EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This staff report asks the City Council to approve the emergency replacement of the Fire Panel at City Hall. The current fire panel at City Hall is outdated, has reached the end of its useful life, and the parts needed to fix the panel are no longer available. The fire panel is critically needed as it operates all the fire systems within the City Hall building and is designed to send a notification when there is a fire or a fire system issue. Currently, City Hall is without a functioning fire panel, which is a concern because there is no proper notification mechanism in the event a fire should occur within the building.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council:
a. Authorize an appropriation in the amount of $153,751.19 from the General Fund 110 to the Community Services Department's operating budget for the emergency replacement of the fire panel at City Hall.
b. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to issue a purchase order in the amount of $153,751.19 to HCI Systems for the emergency replacement of the fire panel at City Hall pursuant to Corona Municipal Code Section 3.08.130(A).

BACKGROUND & HISTORY:
The City of Corona's current fire panel system at City Hall was built in 2005 and is not in proper working order. The system operates all fire systems within the building and provides a notification when there is a fire or a fire system issue. The panel is outdated and the parts that are needed to replace this panel are no longer available. As such, the system has reached the end of its useful life.
