EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
Consideration for approval of a First Amendment to the Maintenance/General Services Agreement with Augustine General Engineering to increase the total compensation by $175,860 to perform utility retrofit work needed to facilitate the construction of the Prado Dam Spillway Project, which will be locally sponsored by the Orange County Flood Control District, a division of Orange County Public Works. The Prado Dam Spillway Project will commence in Summer 2022, and construction of the project will increase the ability to impound water at Prado Dam, thus creating a potential for City of Corona utilities located in the flood inundation area to become flooded. Orange County Public Works executed a reimbursement agreement with City of Corona on December 1, 2021, to reimburse the City for costs incurred to retrofit City facilities located in the flood inundation area.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the:
a. City Council approve the First Amendment to the Maintenance/General Services Agreement with Augustine General Engineering of Alta Loma, CA, to increase the total compensation by $175,860 to perform the City of Corona utility retrofit work to facilitate construction of the Prado Dam Spillway Project by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
b. City Council authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute the First Amendment to the Maintenance/General Services Agreement with Augustine General Engineering for a total contract amount of $375,860 and approve necessary change orders up to 25% of the contract increase, or an additional $43,965, as a contingency for any potential unknown site condi...
