EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This staff report asks the City Council to award Request for Proposals 23-017AC to Onward Engineering for design services and project management for the Sidewalk Gap Closure at East Chase Drive and Smith Avenue Project. The project will improve Corona's multimodal transportation system by installing missing sidewalks and accessible curb ramps for pedestrians.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council:
a. Award Request for Proposals 23-017AC titled Design Services and Project Management - Sidewalk Gap Closure at East Chase Drive and Smith Avenue to Onward Engineering of Anaheim, CA.
b. Approve the Professional Services Agreement with Onward Engineering for design services and project management for the Sidewalk Gap Closure Project at East Chase Drive and Smith Avenue for a term of March 15, 2023, through May 9, 2024, in the amount of $119,948.
c. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute the Professional Services Agreement with Onward Engineering, in the amount of $119,948, including any non-substantive extensions, change orders, purchase orders, and amendments up to 10% or $11,995 as authorized in Corona Municipal Code 3.08.070(I).

On April 29, 2021, the City of Corona Public Works staff applied for grant funding under SB 821 Bicycle and Pedestrian Facilities Program to construct missing sections of sidewalk, curb-and-gutter, and accessible curb ramps in compliance with the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990.
