RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council adopt Resolution No. 2017-119, declaring the City of Corona’s support of the 2020 United States Census.

ANALYSIS:
The United States (U.S.) Constitution mandates a headcount of everyone residing in the country every ten years. The information collected by the Census is utilized in a variety of ways including calculating the number of seats each state has in the U.S. House of Representatives and the amount of federal funding that is allocated to each community. The information collected is also an invaluable tool for community planning, needs assessments, and economic development activities.
