That the City Council approve Resolution No. 2018-018 establishing a waiver for the plan check and permit fees for the renovation of the kitchen at Joe Dominguez American Legion Post 742 located at 1557 Yorba Street, Corona.

ANALYSIS:
The Executive Leadership Roundtable Class of 2017-18 sponsored by the Corona Chamber of Commerce is proposing to renovate the kitchen at Joe Dominguez American Legion Post 742 located at 1557 Yorba Street, Corona. The renovation of the kitchen is being done as a community service project and the Executive Leadership Roundtable is actively raising funds by doing a fundraiser. The building housing Joe Dominguez American Legion Post 742 is 70 years old with the organization being a 501(c)(19) non-profit veterans organization.

The Executive Leadership Roundtable Class of 2017-18 is requesting the city waive the plan check and permit fees associated with certain improvements to the kitchen, as the funds being raised for the project are coming from donations and the money raised from the fundraiser. The Joe Dominguez American Legion Post 742 provides a public purpose and public benefit to the local community, which benefits the city and the greater community.

COMMITTEE ACTION:
The Public Services Committee at its meeting on April 4, 2018, discussed the request for the fee waiver and was supportive of the request moving forward to the City Council for consideration.
