City Council Consideration of Designation of Voting Delegate for League of California Cities Annual Conference.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council designate a voting delegate and up to two alternates to represent the City of Corona at the 2018 League of California Cities Annual Conference.

Body
ANALYSIS:
The League of California Cities Annual Conference will be held September 12 through September 14 in Long Beach, California. The conference will include the Annual Business Meeting where the membership takes action on conference resolutions. The League bylaws provide that each city be entitled to one vote in matters affecting municipal or League policy.

In order to ensure the integrity of the voting process at the Annual Business Meeting, the designation of the voting delegate and alternates must be ratified by the City Council. Specific voting procedures will be used at the conference. A copy of the 2018 Annual Conference Voting Procedures is attached to this report as Exhibit A. The Voting Delegate/Alternate Form designating the City Council's representation will be completed and returned to the League office no later than July 31, 2018.
