RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Recommended action

That the City Council appropriate $50,000 from the Library Facilities and Collection Fee Fund to purchase books, audio-visual materials, and electronic resources to be added to various Corona Public Library collections.

Body

ANALYSIS:

Funds accumulated in the Residential Development Impact Fees account are exclusively for use by the Corona Public Library to purchase and process library materials.  The City’s general fund, donations from the Friends of the Library, individual donations, and Library Facilities and Collection Fee funds make up the total materials budget.  The account was established to offset the impact that new development would have in many areas of City services, including the demands upon the Library’s materials collections.
