City Council consideration to accept and appropriate $10,000 of Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant funds for the California State Library Initiatives Book Project to obtain physical resources to update and expand book collections.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Recommended action                     

That the City Council:

 

1.                     Accept grant funding from the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) for the California State Library Initiatives Book Project.

 

2.                     Appropriate funding and increase revenue estimates by $10,000 from the Library Other Grants fund.

 

Body

ANALYSIS:

The Corona Public Library has been awarded funds as part of the California State Library Initiatives Book Project.  The California State Library provides grant funds and services through Statewide Initiatives.  The Corona Public Library has been approved for the opportunity to obtain physical resources to update and expand their book collections for Fiscal Year 2018-19.  All purchase invoices and packing slips must be received by the California Library by 9/28/18.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The $10,000 Federal Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) funded grant will reimburse the Library Other Grants Fund for the cost of the program and requires no cost share or matching.
