Body
ANALYSIS:
Fiscal Year 2018-19 marks the third consecutive year that the Library and Recreation Services Department has requested and received County of Riverside Community Improvement Designation grant funding for our Senior Travel Program. The program allows seniors to enjoy outings to a variety of southern California destinations. Participants pay all entry fees and the grant monies are used to offset some of the costs of a chartered bust with wheelchair lift.

In July 2016, the City was awarded $10,000 to initiate the Senior Travel Program. Staff coordinated ten excursions in the program's first year. With continued interest in senior excursions, staff pursued funding again in 2017. We were awarded $5,000 for the program for fiscal year 2017-18. In March 2019, the Senior Center was, again, awarded $5,000 for FY 18-19. This year's program has been expanded to allow senior participants to bring an accompanying adult caretaker. This allows patrons who require assistance to participate.
