RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council :

1. Approve and authorize the City Manager or his designees to execute a Cooperative Agreement between the City and the City of Norco, in the amount of $140,830.20, to reimburse the City for City of Norco's fair share contribution for the pavement rehabilitation of River Road within the City of Norco's city limits.

2. Approve an appropriation and revenue estimate increase in the amount of $140,830.20 within the Public Works Transportation Grant/Agreement Fund for the Capital Improvement Project titled "2017 Street Rehabilitation Project."

ANALYSIS:
The 2017 Street Rehabilitation Project, Project No. 2017-01 consists of pavement rehabilitation of approximately 18 lane-miles of major streets in the following areas: Lincoln Avenue between Rincon Street and City's northerly limits; Main Street between Grand Boulevard and City's northerly limits; and River Road between Corydon Street and Main Street, per attached Exhibit "A." Completion of this project will preserve the existing pavement, extend the useful life of the asphalt, and provide a smoother travel surface for motorists and pedestrians.

A portion of River Road rehabilitation is within the City of Norco's city limits. City staff worked with City of Norco staff to prepare the Cooperative Agreement to establish and coordinate the responsibilities of each agency with respect to the Project.
