RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council appropriate $50,000 from the Library Facilities and Collection Fee Fund to purchase books, audio-visual materials, and electronic resources to be added to various Corona Public Library collections.

Body
ANALYSIS:
Funds accumulated in the Residential Development Impact Fees account are exclusively for use by the Corona Public Library to purchase and process library materials. The City's general fund, donations from the Friends of the Library, individual donations, and Library Facilities and Collection Fee funds make up the total materials budget. The account was established to offset the impact that new development would have in many areas of City services, including the demands upon the Library's materials collections.

STRATEGIC PLAN:
This item supports the City's Strategic Plan Goal 4: "Actively engaging in public and private partnerships to provide services and amenities."

FISCAL IMPACT:
The recommended action will result in an appropriation of $50,000 from the available fund balance in the Library Facilities and Collection Fee Fund (Fund 206) to the Library Materials project (63900).

Upon approval of the recommended action, funding for this project will be available in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 Capital Improvement Plan Budget as follows:





ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS:
No environmental review is required because the proposed action is not a project governed by the California Environmental Quality Act.
