City Council consideration to accept and appropriate grant funds for public transit projects.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council:
1. Accept and appropriate the following funds from the Transit Services Fund for the Corona Cruiser Bus Stop Improvements project:
a. $31,089 in Fiscal Year 14-15 allocation of California Transit Security Grant Program funds, which includes $1,533.96 in received interest, plus any accrued interest. These funds will also be used towards the Corona Cruiser Shelter Battery and Lighting Improvement, Project No. 2017-30; $10,000 of the program allocation has already been appropriated for this project that was approved by City Council on December 20, 2017.
b. $50,000 in prior year State Transit Assistance funds.
2. Accept and appropriate $40,911, from the Transit Services Fund, for Fiscal Year 15-16 allocation of California Transit Security Grant Program funds, which includes $1,336.88 in received interest plus any accrued interest. These funds will be used for the Bus Video Surveillance System Assessment and Repairs Project, and the Bus Radio Assessment and Repairs Project. Any funds remaining after the projects are completed will be used towards bus stop improvements.
3. Authorize the Assistant City Manager/Administrative Services Director to approve additional budgetary adjustments required for the grants.

ANALYSIS:
The City of Corona Transit Service staff intends on moving forward with three transit projects this fiscal year. Grant funds have been secured to fully fund these projects. Transit staff is seeking City Council approval to accept and appropriate grant funds as a precursor to initiating these projects.
