City Council consideration of approval and Award of Notice Inviting Bid ("NIB") 20-021CA for ADA Improvements at Various Park Restrooms - Year 1.

RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council:

1. Adopt the Plans and Specifications for the ADA Improvements at Various Park Restrooms- Year 1 Project

2. Award Notice Inviting Bid ("NIB") 20-021CA for ADA Improvements at Various Park Restrooms - Year 1 to Next Stage Engineering dba Next Stage Engineering & Construction of Fresno, CA, in the amount of $139,860.00.

3. Authorize the Public Works ("PW") Director to execute a contract with Next Stage Engineering dba Next Stage Engineering & Construction in the amount of $139,860.00 and approve necessary change orders up to twenty percent of the contract.

4. Authorize the PW Director and City Attorney to negotiate and execute any amendments to these agreements which are either non-substantive or otherwise in compliance with the City Council's actions hereunder.

5. Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order in the amount of $139,860.00 in accordance with duly authorized and executed agreements.

In 1990, the United States Congress passed the first Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA was the first civil rights law that was created to address the needs of people with disabilities by prohibiting discrimination in employment, public services, public accommodations, and telecommunications.
