EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
This staff report asks the City Council to approve the Professional Services Agreement with JMDiaz Inc. in the amount of $235,861 for the design and engineering services for the Radio Road At-Grade Railway Crossing Safety Improvement, Project No. 2022-09. The project will install raised median islands on both approaches, install pedestrian sidewalk treatments, curb and gutter, accessible curb ramps, signing and striping, street lighting, and relocate existing utilities. The cost of design and construction is fully reimbursable as the project is funded by the United States Code Section 130 Grade Crossing Improvement Program.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Recommended action
That the City Council:
a. Award Request for Proposal 23-023AS for design and engineering services for the Radio Road At-Grade Railway Crossing Safety Improvement Project, No. 2022-09, to JMDiaz Inc. of Industry, CA.
b. Approve the Professional Services Agreement with JMDiaz Inc. for the design and engineering services, for a term of two years beginning May 17, 2023, through May 21, 2025, in the amount of $235,861.
c. Authorize the City Manager, or his designee, to execute a Professional Services Agreement with JMDiaz Inc. in the amount of $235,861, including any non-substantive extensions, change orders, purchase orders, and amendments up to $23,586 or 10% of the total contract amount as authorized in Corona Municipal Code Section 3.08.070(I).
